Take some mascara add a little air.

What does that give you?

Bacteria.

I use mascara everyday, because unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with full, thick lashes. I got the lips, so I’m not complaining.

Think about what you do when you apply mascara.

First you pull the wand out, then you put it back in – exposing it to air each time – which is multiplied with each coat. So here some tips to keep you beautiful and safe.

Shelf Life

The rule of thumb on shelf life is 3 months. So if you’re on a beauty budget – try to find a mascara that won’t break the bank.

Twist don’t pump.

Pumping your mascara wand is a no-no for two reasons.

One – it can cause the mascara to dry out faster.

Two – you’re pushing air into the tube – trapping it – which increases the potential for bacteria.

You’re thinking about mascara differently aren’t you?

Knowledge is power people.

After trying it in a sampler promo box, this is the mascara I use now: smashbox Full Exposure. I like the wand, it goes on easily – lasts all day, comes off fairly easily at night and it doesn’t clump-up or get sticky even, when it starts running low. A tube lasts 2 to 3 months.
