Where did your passion for fashion come from?
It all started at a very young age when I used to look at my mom getting ready and seeing how much she enjoyed dressing up and looking pretty! I’ve always been a person who cared about style and how to make it my own, and that is what I still strive to do until today.
You have an interesting cultural mix – how has that influenced your style?
To be honest, both of my backgrounds come from two different worlds so I would say that I created my own style. I took the extravagant style from the Lebanese culture and mixed it with the Caribbean free-spirited culture!
You were recently named Senior Style Editor for antidotemagazine.com – tell us how that came about and a little bit about your role at the magazine.
It all started about 2 years ago when I met Andrew and Nana, the creators of the magazine, through mutual friends. We stayed in touch and one day I decided to contact them about any opportunities they had with the magazine. Since that day, I’ve been their Senior Style Editor and I couldn’t be happier! So far, this is the biggest achievement in my fashion career. My role consists of being in charge of the women’s fashion articles online and in the printed magazine, with the help of many other contributors of course! Every week, I talk about beauty tips and tricks and style hacks.
How long does it take you to prepare for a fashion shoot? Do you have any tips or tricks you’ve learned along the way?
Depending on how complex the photo shoot is, how many people are involved, who we are catering to and how many outfits and locations, it can take me between a week and a month to prepare!
The number one tip that I can give is plan, plan, and plan! Without organization and planning, you increase your chances of forgetting important things and not being prepared enough for the shoot! Make checklists and keep an agenda with all of the essential tasks, dates and times.
How do you decide on what to write about for your posts?
I try my best to always stay up-to-date with the latest and upcoming fashion trends and popular styles. By doing so, it inspires me to come up with style hacks on how to wear and style items and what’s hot for the upcoming season. I make a lot of style and inspiration boards and I also inspire myself from other fashionistas!
Are they any up and coming fashion designers or brands that have caught your eye recently?
Toronto-based fashion designer Carissa McCaig. She has a fashion line called Copious and she creates beautiful and unique designs!
I love your Instagram account. I like the picture you posted on contouring – you recently did a post on it for antidotemagazine.com. How long did it take you to learn the beauty technique?
Thank you! I’m a very visual person so when it comes to learning makeup techniques, I only have to see someone do it a few times and I’m good to go! I’ve learned the contouring technique by watching YouTube videos and lots of practice!
We both have curly hair – sometimes it’s a blessing – sometimes it’s a curse. What is your favorite curly hair cocktail?
Haha! I used to think that curly hair was the biggest curse, but over the years, I’ve learned to appreciate them! After trying countless techniques and products, I find that the hair product that works best on my hair is Bumble & Bumble’s Curl Conscious Defining Cream! It keeps my curls shapely and supple, but defined.
After I get out of the shower, I use a microfiber hair towel to dry my hair, I apply a small amount of cream starting at the ends, and then I take strands of hair and twist them together using my fingers. Once my hair dries, I take out the twists and I have perfect curls!
Do you have any upcoming projects you want to share with our readers?
Well, I am constantly working on many ventures in the fashion and music industry. Right now, I’m working on a special project that I can’t really divulge information about yet, but you will be hearing from me soon! Stay tuned.
Since we are fashion and beauty blog, would you mind answering a few personal questions?
Not at all!
Do you have a daily beauty routine?
It all starts in the morning when I get out of bed and get ready for the day. I have a combination of dry and oily skin so I use Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap in Tea Tree Oil to wash my face. If some of you don’t know what soap I’m talking about, it’s amazing and can be used for anything from washing your face, body and hair to cleaning your house and car! It’s simply magic.
Then, I moisturize my face with a hypoallergenic, non-greasy, perfume-free moisturizing cream by Glaxall Base and I apply my favorite face primer of all time, Too Faced’s Hangover Replenishing Face Primer made with coconut water, electrolytes and probiotics, and most importantly, it’s silicone-free! After that comes the makeup.

What is your favorite way to pamper yourself?
This is an easy question! Taking long baths is my favorite way to pamper myself. I usually put Dead Sea salt in my bath water and light scented candles. I love water and it’s my favorite way to relax!

Anywhere hot on a beach! I love travelling so I wouldn’t be able to choose one place. It would definitely have to be somewhere tropical around the sea or the ocean!
