You all know by now that I have a tiny shoe problem, although I am getting better at restraining myself from impulse buys.
Now I am going to go for quality over quantity.
I have some shoes that I haven’t worn in years. Even though I like the way they look, some shoes I own are murder on my feet. Which makes me wonder why I ever bought them in them first place.
You know that feeling right? Every step is so painful – it makes you wince.
So I Googled essential shoes for a wardrobe and I found an article by Harper’s Bazaar that listed 11 shoes every woman should own – but my list has 12 – it’s an even number.
Here is the list – I added a few notes for each.
pointed black pump: they elongate your leg and can be worn with just about anything – skinny jeans, wide leg dress pant, dress, skirt – anything.
ankle-strap sandal: these are my go to spring/summer shoe – all you need is a good pedicure and they can be paired with a casual outfit or for a night on the town.
ankle boot: wearing them with jeggings will make your legs look longer – the idea is to create a long line so if you wear them with a skirt or dress make sure to stay above the knee.
loafer: not a fan of these – I find them a bit clunky but that is just me.
ballet flat: love these – they offer a very Audrey Hepburn and classic look and give a polished look to a casual outfit.
animal print heel: these will add a sultry style to your outfit but I would’t wear them with another print – try black or a nice bold color.
metallic heel: oddly I don’t own a pair of these #shoppingtrip – I did see a pair of silver metallic heels worn with boyfriend jeans on Pinterest and it looked super stylish.
short stacked heel: not a fan of the super chunky heel – I prefer a slimmer one unless it is a boot.
sneaker: my favorite as you may already know – they aren’t just for the gym anymore – they look good with jeans, casual fitted tank dress, cargo pants, leather leggings – the list goes on.
flat sandal: can be worn with everything that screams summer – cut off shorts, floral dress – a great choice for summer festival season.
tall flat boot: love these and I am due for a new pair – these are timeless and a must have for fall, they add a polished look to jeans and tee casual outfit and look great with a short skirt or dress.
all weather boot: these are a must for our long winters – I try not to break the bank with these – because the snow, slush and salt will destroy them.
