Have you been on Instagram lately?

The list of products used for some makeup looks is overwhelming and how/why you use it can sometimes be confusing.

So to help you out, here is some product knowledge from the very talented and passionate – Sandrina Lomedico.

To check out my interview with her from a few years ago, click here.

What is a strobe creme?

Strobe cremes typically will all have light reflecting particles which help minimize the appearance of pores, lines and any other discoloration on the skin. It leaves your skin with an all over glow and acts as a primer to prepare your skin for your next step.

Once you apply it to the skin, much like a moisturizer, it is important to allow it to set. Maybe brush your teeth in between or text back that pal you forgot to get back to.

How do you use it?

You use this product before any other product. Before foundation, before correcting products and before concealer.  In fact, you may find you need less corrective products once you use it. This ultimately saves you time.

What are the benefits for you?

The benefits of using a product like this are the following:

  • It leaves your skin looking hydrated and much more even toned.
  • It allows your foundation and corrector to set more evenly and helps makeup last much longer.
  • The light reflecting particles deflect skin imperfections.
  • It leaves your skin feeling smooth.

The key however again is to allow it to set!

How does it affect your end result?

The end result is a glow that breaks through all the products. Strobe cremes work best when you choose one with the correct undertone for your skin. It comes typically it cool and warm.

As for the other products in this picture I will fill you in next time. 💄
