Keeping our city beautiful, one head of hair at a time.

She represents the next generation of hair professionals.

Adriana knew from a young age that she wanted a career in the beauty industry. She already had such a unique perspective to offer clients – even before she ever stepped foot behind the chair.

Here is a bit of her story.

Let’s start with what drew you to pursue a career in the beauty industry.

I’ve always known I wanted to be in the beauty industry, since I was really young. I have to give my mom credit for that – since she has been an Aesthetician for 22 years now. I grew up around the salon/spa environment and have really always enjoyed seeing people get beautified; whether it be their hair, nails, skin.

You have a unique perspective – you have worked at the salon as a receptionist interacting with clients and stylists. How have these experiences helped you behind the chair?

Beginning my career at Texture as a receptionist was definitely a pro for me, because I learned everything there is to know by sitting behind the desk without even touching hair.

Now that I get to be behind the chair, I feel confident in educating clients and helping them with their needs and wants with the knowledge I have gained from being at reception.

What does that tagline mean to you – and how has being part of the salon culture impacted you as a hair professional starting out in the industry?

To me, the salon tagline means exactly what it sounds like. Hair is something that expresses an individual’s personality and who they are as a person. Your hair is who you are, it’s a lifestyle!

Being part of the salon culture has impacted me in many great ways. It brought out somebody in me that I never knew existed. I am learning more about not only hair, but also myself everyday and I love it!

How important is educating clients in order to manage their expectations?

This is SO extremely important!

Social media has a huge impact on hair, and 90% of the time the hair we see on celebrities is very unrealistic. Beautiful, but unrealistic.

Educating clients in order to manage their expectations is important, as being honest is key to being a hairstylist.

Kim Kardashian did not go from a jet black bob to platinum blonde in 24 hours, and I can guarantee that. And if she miraculously did, it was either a wig or she just killed the integrity of her hair.

(P.S. It was a wig.)

How do you stay on top of all the trends, techniques and latest products?

Social media!

Social media is huge for staying on top of trends and what’s new. Education classes and product knowledge as well. I love taking classes with L’Oreal Professional and Redken. I think I know everything there is to know about techniques and products, and then I take a class and it opens up a whole new world I didn’t even know existed!

What is your definition of beauty?

Simply being yourself.

Nothing is more beautiful than being yourself! Style yourself whatever way you please. Who cares what others think? If it makes you happy, do it!

Do you have a daily beauty routine?

I don’t know if I would call it a beauty routine as it’s more of a self-care routine.

I like to wake up, brush my teeth, shower, cleanse/exfoliate and moisturize my skin and get ready for the day. I consider myself a minimalist. Minimal makeup, and nothing too over the top to wear. Usually just jeans or leggings and a cute top with some sneakers.

Comfy but still myself!

What are some of your hair and make-up must-haves?

Hair must-haves are definitely some sort of Pureology shampoo and conditioner, but most importantly my hair wand. I even have a backup hair wand!

Make-up must-haves would have to be some sort of blush, mascara, but most importantly eyebrow gel. Brow gel –ALWAYS.

How would you describe your personal style?

Casual chic. It’s nice to be classy, but I don’t need to overdo it everyday.

What is your favorite way to pamper yourself?

If I’m not at the salon, I’m at the spa. Nothing beats a pedi/mani day with my mom!

Finally, what three words describe you best?

Warmhearted, ambitious and honest.
