Some sunshine is good for the soul, but I always make sure I wear a big hat. – Miranda Kerr
I love the sunshine but, I love beautiful skin more.
Prevention is key to keeping your skin healthy.
I use sunscreen every single day, not only to help avoid sunburn but also to help reduce the signs of skin aging. Over the years I have use a few different brands – along with the guidelines below I make sure they contain zinc oxide.
Most articles I read recommended choosing a sunscreen with:
◊ Broad Spectrum | UVA + UVB Protection
◊ SPF 30 +
◊ Water Resistant
Here are some application tips:
◊ To cover the expose areas of your body, typically you need will enough sunscreen to fill a shot glass.
◊ Remember to apply it everywhere – including your lips, ears, close to your hairline and the back of your neck.
◊ Make sure you apply sunscreen 15-20 minutes before heading out in the sun – so your skin has time to absorb it.
There is a lot of good information out there. Be smart. Do your research and find a sunscreen that is right for you.
