Our Mother is a Hair Stylist. After all these years, she still has a passion for her craft. Her profession isn’t just about hair – it’s a lifestyle.

This is where we got our love for hair, beauty and fashion.

Who dictates your style?

The fashion magazines? What you see on the runway? What you see on the streets?

There is only one person that should dictate your style.

We try to stay on top of the trends – but if it doesn’t speak to us grab our attention – we know it isn’t part of our style. We know there are somethings that we each can’t wear because it doesn’t suit our body types. And that’s okay. We don’t think FOMO should be a part of fashion.

The clothes you wear, your haircut and color should be unique to you.

Finding your signature style.

When it comes to fashion and beauty – confidence is everything. You need to find clothes that fit you – not the other way around.

This blog is all about seeing what is out there in the hair, fashion and beauty world. Get ideas, find inspiration, get answers and build your own look.

When do you know you’ve found it? You’ll get people tagging you in posts with the caption – this is totally you!

Your style speaks before you do – so make an unforgettable first impression.

Be happy. Live life. Stay beautiful.

How would you describe yourself?

I’m honest, calm, very easy going and independent. I don’t trust people easily but when I do I am very loyal. I am also a Taurus – so the trust thing is true – at least in my case.

Hobbies: Does working out count as a hobby? I love circuit training, running and kick boxing. If you want to get in shape – join Greco. It was worth every penny for me.

Any regrets?

No.  I think everything happens for a reason – the difficult times I’ve been through have made me a stronger person.

Best feature: I guy once told me I had bedroom eyes. But I think I’d have to say my lips. They are real – no fillers. I was born with full lips – genetics.

Favorite movie: Warrior, Young Victoria and Godfather I and II. I also love documentaries – I find them fascinating. Some of my favorites include – Welcome to Death Row, Muhammad Ali: Made in Miami, Hairdressers Ruled and The September Issue.

Music: My favorite song is FloRida – Wild One. It always puts me in a good mood. But I listen to everything – from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra to Katy Perry and Ice Cube. I love Craig Mack’s remix of Flava In Ya Ear. It’s epic.

How would you describe your style?

Stylish, trendy but simple, not over the top.

Favorite clothing: Jeans.

Favorite accessory: Beanie and trucker cap.

Favorite shoes: My ADIDAS Superstar sneakers. I love my Steve Madden black pointed heels too. I don’t own any designer shoes – believe it or not.

One thing everyone all your friends know about you – that others would find surprising.

I H-A-T-E taking pictures. Also, some people assume that because I focus a lot on the hair industry, that I’m a hairdresser. I’m not – I just grew up around it. It’s in my blood.

Where would you like to go on your next vacation?

Somewhere warm – far, far away.

Favorite Food: My mother’s pizza.  She also makes this grilled eggplant with plum tomato olive salsa that is so good. Aside from Italian I like sushi, Greek, Cuban and Middle Eastern food. I am also obsessed with fish tacos too.

Color: I’m getting better at expanding my color choices – but I would say half my closet is black.

Sports: Football.  If I had a dollar every time someone told me I know a lot about football for a girl – I’d be rich. My dream job would be working for the NFL head office.

I was also born a Juventus fan.

Dining out: I love places with great atmosphere and food. I refuse to eat anywhere that resembles a barn.

Some of my faves are Babbos in Manotick, 268 in Little Italy, Pirho-Grill in Barrhaven.

I love La Bottega Nicastro’s lentil soup – the fish tacos from Moxie’s – veggie burgers from Heart & Crown.

The place I go to most often – Roberto ★ Pizza. Love their Kale Caesar Salad and the Roberto and Margherita pizza.

Okay. I’ll stop now.

Clothing Store: Aritzia – Express – American Eagle (love their jeans). It changes though. It really depends on the style of the season and the quality of the clothes.

Drink: Vodka and water. Gin and Tonic. Wine. Prosecco. Coffee/Epresso. Water. I think that about covers it.

Perfume: Dolce & Gabbana with the red cap. Chance by Chanel. There is a body spray from Victoria’s Secret I love too – Bombshell.

How do you like to pamper yourself?

My favorite thing in the world is getting my hair blown out. It’s the best thing ever. I also love hotel pillows – it’s like sleeping on a cloud.

Flowers or Chocolate?

I don’t like flowers they remind me of funerals. I like dark chocolate – it’s good for you – antioxidants.  That’s why chocolate lava cake doesn’t count as dessert.

What does the phrase beauty from the inside out mean to you?

Beauty equals confidence.

I have gotten more confident over the past 5-6 years. I really don’t care what people think. I’ve never been one to follow the crowd. I am also a little stubborn.

Okay. Very stubborn.

When people look back at your life, how do you want to be remembered?

I am going to steal a quote from Frank Sinatra.

I would like to be remembered as a man who had a wonderful time living life, a man who had good friends, fine family – and I don’t think I could ask for anything more than that.
