Do you have a daily beauty routine?
I am a pretty simple gal when it comes to makeup. A typical day includes a water-only face wash, an application of Mistura’s Luminada® Illuminating moisturizer and of course my 6-in-1 powder on the face with a very light gloss. If I have meetings or I feel like putting a bit more effort in, I will apply some eye liner, volumizing mascara and some darker gloss from our line. I am not the best experimenter but I do enjoy getting my makeup done when I have a special event!
What are five beauty products you can’t live without?
Naturally, I can’t live without any of the Mistura products. All three lip plumping glosses and of course the 6-in-1 powder. I am however a huge Dior fan – and Touche Éclat ranks right up there with one of my “can’t live without” products for sure.
How would you describe your style?
I am definitely not the most adventurous dresser! I would call my look “Angelina Jolie meets Martha Stewart”. I seem to gravitate to flowy fabrics in neutral tones – blacks, beiges and taupes and keep my jewelry simple.
Lately, my gold wedding band is all I wear and I love how striking it is on its own. I love ankle cropped pants or jeans, long cashmere tops and blouses and comfortable ballet flats or driving shoes; either Chanel or JP Tods.
At night, I can’t live without my Louboutin Simple pumps in cream and black and always add a gold cuff or statement earrings for fun.
My Martha side is hopelessly preppy and my Angelina side provides the edge I need – fishnet trouser socks, a killer black stilletto with a Ralph Lauren blouse and the odd splash of black leather.
My friends call me “timeless” and I think that’s pretty accurate.
Where is your favorite place to shop?
I am an Ebay devotee. I have been shopping with them since 2001 and am now up to over 500 transactions! Not only am I able to find discontinued items and hard-to-find goodies – but there is more variety of shoes in my size.
It’s important to know how each designer fits so you don’t run into problems however it is worth it when you consider how much you save.
Do you have a style tip you would like to share?
I am a huge believer in staying away from expensive and short-lived trends; especially where shoes are concerned.
I remember years ago an old acquaintance went through a Miu Miu phase and collected the most unattractive and unflattering shoes you could imagine. Of course, the Miu Miu sculpted kitten heel and running-shoe look lasted 6 months at most and she was stuck with thousands of dollars in what one could only call ugly shoes.
Once in a while it’s fun to invest in a unique item that can be trendy – but changing your style with the weather should be avoided.
